OBITUARIES FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 7, 2001

MYRTLE SNOWDEN SCARBROUGH

Services for Myrtle Snowden Scarbrough will be held today at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edgar Ivey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Scarbrough, 76, of Meridian, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Lancaster Odom and her husband, Tony, of Mobile, Ala., Patricia Scarbrough Walters of Meridian and Judy Lynn Blackmon and her husband, James, of Meridian; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a special sister, Helen Ivey and her husband, Edgar, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; three brothers, William "Buddy" Snowden and his wife, Faye, of Enterprise, John Snowden and his wife, Margaret, of Meridian, and Jimmie Snowden and his wife, Mary, of Meridian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Essie Snowden and her husband, Joseph Arvon Scarbrough.
Mrs. Ivey will miss her precious, darling sister very much.

QUITMAN Services for Richard "Satch" Eugene Page were held Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jimmy Dabbs and Mitchell McDonald officiating. Eulogist was Pam Whaley. Burial was in Andrews Chapel Cemetery in Clarke County.
Mr. Page, 67, of Quitman, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Gilda T. Page of Quitman; a son, Barry Page of Nashville; a stepson, Steve Whaley and his wife, Pam, of Quitman; five grandchildren, Ethan Page of Nashville, Brian Whaley of Baton Rouge, La., Patrick Whaley of Hattiesburg, Rachael Whaley and Sarah Whaley, both of Quitman; three aunts, Anna Hoover of Ponchatoula, La., Josephine Grimes of St. Joseph, Mo., and Marilyn Freeman of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and "Tiny" Page.
Pallbearers were Brian Whaley, Mike Williams, Joe Edwards, Patrick Whaley, Phillip Williams and Oliver Hopkins.
Honorary pallbearers were Dan Moore, Woodie Abraham, Glenn Brown, Michael Corrigan, Linford Conard and Fred Haygood.
The family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church in Quitman or H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
OLLIE D. POPE

Graveside services for Ollie D. Pope will be held today at 11 a.m. at Oddfellows Cemetery in Quitman with the Rev. Danny Chisholm officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pope, 90, of Meridian, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Queen City Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and longtime member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mae Jewel Sanders and her husband, Bill, Barbara Keely and her husband, Sam, and Ellen Shirley and her husband, Wade, a son, Jerry Pope and his wife, Amy, all of Meridian; seven grandchildren, Becky Pierce, Alan Sanders, Randy Keely, Lisa Noe, Kimberly Shirley, Tyler Pope and Robin Crouch; two brothers, Gene Smith and his wife, Natalie, of Meridian and Glen Smith and his wife, Mary Ann, of Crandall; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zack Pope, and a son, Thomas Wade Pope.
HELEN POPE TUCKER

YORK, Ala. Services for Helen Pope Tucker will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Livingston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim DuFriend officiating. Burial will be in Livingston Memorial Gardens with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Tucker, 80, of Livingston, died Friday, April 6, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include a son, Darryl Tucker, and a daughter, Melanie Spidle, both of Livingston; three sisters, Ollie Merle Parker and Bonnie Jackson, both of Thomasville, and Mabel Mendenhall of Magnolia; a brother, Donnie Pope of Northport; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Lambert Tucker.
The family requests memorials be made to Livingston United Methodist Church Building Fund or Sumter Academy.
Visitation will be today from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the church.
