MOORE, MAY
Johnna Karen May of Quitman and Brent Allen Moore of Mohawk, N.Y., were married on Nov. 19, 2000, at ClarkCo State Park with the Rev. C.C. Burns officiating.
Parents of the couple are Henry Fletcher and Louise Fulmer, both of Quitman, and Raymond Moore of Herkimer, N.Y., and the late Joan Moore.
Grandparents of the couple are Madeline Morris of Richton and the late Chalmers Morris, Dorothy Moore of Waterville, N.Y., the late Henry Fletcher Sr. and the late Eva Tanner Fletcher and the late James and Margaret Hojnowski.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Jeff Holland of Quitman and Rachel, Rebekah and Raven Chancellor, all of Vossburg. Scripture was read by William Chancellor of Vossburg, brother-in-law of the bride.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory own with a combination of all-embroidered, corded bodice that sat over a full skirt. An embroidered corded band circled the front skirt and detachable train with satin rosettes accented the back waistline.
She wore an ivory fingertip-length veil. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses and a handmade handkerchief made by the bridegroom's late grandmother, Margaret Hojnowski.
Kim Chancellor of Vossburg served her sister as matron of honor and Mary West of Wiggins was maid of honor. DeAnn Fletcher of Quitman, sister-in-law of the bride, was bridesmaid.
Heather Monroe and Matthew Monroe, both of Mohawk and niece and nephew of the bridegroom, served as flower girl and ring bearer. Rachel Chancellor, Rebekah Chancellor and Raven Chancellor, all of Vossburg, served as their aunt's train bearers.
Andy Steele of Mohawk served as best man. Groomsmen were Jerry Brown of Mohawk and Paul Overacker of St. Johnsville, N.Y. Ushers were Greg Fletcher, brother of the bride, and William Chancellor, brother-in-law of the bride.
Wedding programs were distributed by Rebecca Monroe, Karlee Moore and Samantha Rice, all of Mohawk, N.Y., nieces of the bridegroom.
Immediately after the ceremony, butterflies were released by the bridegroom, the bride and the bridegroom's family in memory of the bridegroom's mother.
A reception was held at the Quitman Depot.
Tea girls were Lesli Bonner, Audrey Evans, Emily McNeal, Shanna Pugh, Kristen Rolison, Brandy Sims and Sara Taylor. Bird seed bags were distributed by Kayla Higgins of Ilion, N.Y., Cortney Moore and Sierra Moore, both of Webster, Fla., nieces of the bridegroom. Wedding favors were distributed by Kenny Higgins of Ilion, Raymond Moore of Webster and Tyler Rice of Mohawk, nephews of the bridegroom.
A family party was hosted by the bride's father and his wife at the Shriner's Building. Music was provided by Danny Short of Demopolis.
On the eve of the wedding, the bride and bridegroom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Long's Fish Camp.
The couple was given an engagement party by family and friends in Mohawk in August. The couple also was given wedding showers by Mary West and the WMU of Hephzibah Baptist Church.
The couple is planning a wedding trip in the spring. They currently reside in Quitman.
SANDERS, ANDERSON
Miss Lauta June Anderson became the bride of David Allan Sanders during a noon ceremony at Gift Chapel in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The wedding was held Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, with the Rev. James Taylor conducting the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of June McRae Anderson and the late Langdon Smith Anderson Jr. of Philadelphia. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. McRae of Meridian and the late Mr. and Mrs. Langdon S. Anderson Sr. of Poplarville.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Brubaker of Aurora, Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Sanders of Parker, Colo. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Klein of Highlands Ranch, Colo.
Nuptial music was provided by Jan Groen, organist, and Robert Shirrell, vocalist.
Given in marriage by her mother and brother, Langdon S. Anderson III, and escorted by her brother, the bride wore a formal gown of white bridal satin with a bodice embellished with seed pears and iridescent sequins. Her fingertip-length veil of bridal illusion fell from a headpiece accented with iridescent sequins and pearls.
Jamie Klein of Denver was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Hubbard of Ft. Hood, Texas, and Julie Klein of Denver.
Flower girl and ring bearer were Katie Beth Jenkins and Robbie Jenkins, both of Dalton, Ga.
Ben Rutledge of Denver served as best man. Groomsmen were Mike Tretter and Greg Harper, both of Denver. Shawn Michael Anderson of Philadelphia served as junior usher.
As the couple left the chapel, they passed under the drawn swords of the Army Honor Guard.
Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was held at Crumpets Restaurant for the wedding part, family and out-of-town guests.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at Marie Callendars Restaurant.
After a wedding trip to the Colorado mountains, the couple resides in San Antonio.
