Red Bay falls to Decatur Heritage in opener

The Red Bay Tigers fell to Decatur Heritage 62-53 in their opener in the Red Bay Tipoff Invitational.

Decatur Heritage opened up a 17-10 first quarter lead and led 37-18 before Red Bay’s Noah Brewer hit a buzzer-beater three-pointer at the end of the half to make the score 37-21.

The Eagles extended their lead to 53-32 in the third quarter, and although Red Bay outscored Decatur Heritage 21-9 in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough to make up for the first-quarter scoring drought.

Gath Weatherford hit five three-pointers and led Red Bay with 21 points. Clay Allison and Colton Corum added eight points each. Braden Ray added six points. Brewer and Hunter Bays scored three points each, and Tanner Hamilton and Arden Hamilton finished with two points each.
