Aubrey Wayne Cockrell, Jr.

Aubrey Wayne "Chicken" Cockrell, Jr., age 60, of Double Springs, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Mr. Cockrell worked at Mann Steel, Inc., as a loader operator. He was a devoted husband and father. Respected by all who knew him, he will be truly missed. He enjoyed watching Auburn football, crappie fishing, reading and spending time with his family. He was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Double Springs with Albert Rivera officiating.
Mr. Cockrell is survived by his loving wife, Thalia Smith Cockrell; a daughter, Amy Cockrell White and husband Dr. Walter White, of Birmingham; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville assisted the family.
