Meridian police on Tuesday located the car stolen from the home of the late James Tingle, 75, and John Crump, 59, brothers who were victims of a double homicide.
The men were discovered shot to death in their home at 2419 19th St. Monday afternoon. Police reported that some cash was taken from the home as well.
Assistant Police Chief Keith McCary said the 1993 silver Lincoln Town Car taken from the residence was spotted abandoned on J.D. McWilliams Road off Highway 80 East.
Autopsies were performed on the victims Tuesday.
Clayton Cobler, Lauderdale County deputy coroner, said that while a preliminary report from the autopsies may be available this week, final autopsy results may take six to eight weeks.
