MABEL VERNON LITTELL

DEKALB Services for Mabel Vernon Littell will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home, with the Revs. Kermit Sharp and Daniel McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Littell, 91, of DeKalb, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, in her home. She was a homemaker and retired seamstress.
Survivors include her cousins, James and Jean Thomas and Myrtis Thomas, all of DeKalb, and other cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Littell.
Pallbearers will be Sam Vernon, Billy Joe McKinley, Ricky Warren, Ronnie Burton, Marion Breckenridge and Chris Talbert.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
MELVIN LEON ORMAN
JACKSON Services for Melvin Leon "Bud" Orman will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Wright &Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Orman, 83, of Raymond, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at Covington County Hospital in Collins. He was born on Oct. 6, 1919, in Jackson, the son of Leon and Elma Orman. At an early age his family moved to California. After the beginning of World War II, Mr. Orman joined the U.S. Army, serving as a member of the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion, Company B, in the European and Pacific theaters of combat. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, the European Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Medal. He continued to remain close to many of his friends in the 509th. After the war, Mr. Orman moved to Vicksburg and began working for South Central Bell Telephone Company. In 1961, he moved to Jackson. Mr. Orman retired from South Central Bell after 37 years of service as a switchman. He was a member of McDowell Road Baptist Church where he participated in the men's Sunday school class. Mr. Orman was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Mary B. Orman of Raymond; three daughters, Kay Lynn Beemon of Ocean Springs; Brenda Massimo of Fredricks, Md.; and Crystal Gaddis of Florence; and his grandchildren, Richard and Jennifer Schmidt, Amanda Romano, Michael and Jennifer Gaddis; and one great-grandchild, River Schmidt.
Memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 4395 South Drive, Jackson, MS 39209.
Visitation will be held today from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
ABBIE BOOTH

A memorial service for Abbie Booth will be held at a later date with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Booth, 65, of Toomsuba, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Long and her husband, Ken, of Meridian, Sherrall Motley Smith and her husband, Tommy, of Augusta, Ga., and Sandra Brady of Toomsuba; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four brothers.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association.
