NEWTON Services for John C. Spence will be held today at 2 p.m. at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church with the Revs. Stan Buckley and Mike Smith officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Spence, 70, of Decatur, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a retired school administrator.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Spence of Decatur; a daughter, Melesia Reed and her husband, Christian, of Decatur; a son Kent Spence and his wife, Connie, of Philadelphia; two sisters, Bessie Smith of Brandon and Maxine Smith of Union; three grandchildren, Brittany and Bryden Reed and Chesney Spence; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
RUBYE BURTON JONES
YORK, Ala. Graveside services for Rubye Burton Jones will be held today at 4 p.m. at York Cemetery with the Rev. Grant McLain officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Jones, 78, of Maben, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was employed in retail at a fabric shop.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Crandell of Maben; a son, Edward Darley of Newton; two sisters, Frances Jackson of Sturgis and Eloise Sharpe of Houston, Miss.; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Essie Clay Seal and her father, George Seal.
CLAUDIE LEE MCINNIS
GILBERTOWN, Ala. Graveside services for Claudie Lee McInnis will be held Sunday at noon at Bonner Cemetery with the Rev. James Bonner officiating. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. McInnis, 98, of Toxey, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.
Survivors include two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
JESSIE MAE DUNNAM
QUITMAN Services for Jessie Mae Dunnam will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jimmy Sanders, Mike Everett and Chris Winkleman officiating. Burial will be in Bucatunna Cemetery.
Mrs. Dunn, 95, of Meridian, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a retired Navy Nurse and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include her husband, James Dunnam of Meridian; a niece, Louise Shirley Culpepper; and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe E. Dunnam; her mother, Ida McDonald Dunnam; two brothers, Jodie Dunnam and Webb Dunnam; six sisters, Ila D. Shirley, Nora D. Shirley, Ela Dunnam, Bessie D. McKinn, Margie D. Gaddis and Sadie D. Cutrer.
Pallbearers will be Neal Dunnam, James Shirley, Harmon Shirley, Perry Shirley, Ronnie Shirley and Jimmy Culpepper.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

UNION Services for Maxine Dowden will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. H.L. Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Ms. Dowden, 77, of Meridian, died Thursday, Feb.13, 2003, in Beebe, Ark. She was employed with RCA Records as a production worker.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Tucker of Decatur, Becky Hedrick of Newton, Patricia Taylor of Beebe, Ark.; two sons, Gerald Dowden of Palm Springs, Calif., and Todd Dowden of Sebastopol; two sisters, Georgia Barnard of Greenfield and Ruth Lemaster of Galloway, Ohio; three brothers, Edgar Barnard of Naples, Fla., Norman Barnard of Wilkerson, Ind., and Kenneth Barnard of Port Charlotte, Fla.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Dowden.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be C.D. Graham, Gary Graham, Brian Graham, Junior Jones, Micah Graham and Jason Dowden.
