Lori Ann Turnage and Kenneth E. McGowin Jr., both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at Enterprise Baptist Church with the Rev. Taylor H. Wallace officiating.
Parents of the couple are Sonny and Ann Turnage, and Kenneth and Cathy McGowin, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Wesley Clay of Enterprise and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wilson Turnage Sr.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Dean Boyette of Meridian and the late Claude Boyette; Sonny Peterman of Meridian and the late Deloris Peterman; and the late Willie Joe McGowin.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Barry Brand, soloist; Jimmy Crane, violinist; Susan Chancelor, organist; Terri Smith, flautist; and Bobbye Taylor, pianist and soloist.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a formal gown of matte satin. The sleeveless bodice was embellished with an embroidered overlay of beaded English net with a sloped waistline from which an A-line skirt with and an embroidered and hand-beaded hemline swept into a chapel-length train.
Her veil of illusion, enhanced with corded edging, was anchored by a freshwater pearl and crystal tiara. She carried a bouquet of yellow lilies, coral roses and frescia that was hand-tied.
Becky Vick of Collinsville, cousin of the bride, served as matron of honor.
Other attendants were Amy Brand of Bailey and Beth Flanagan of Greenville, cousins of the bride, Tiffany McGowin of Meridian, sister of the bridegroom, and Sidnette Turnage of Jackson, sister-in-law of the bride.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man.
Groomsmen and ushers were Todd Brand of Bailey, Burt Flanagan of Greenville, Jason Ortego of Meridian, cousin of the bridegroom, and Trey Turnage of Jackson, brother of the bride.
Wedding bubbles and ring streamers were handed out by Darby Chaney, Shelby Chaney, Bayleigh Herrington, Alexandria Poole and Victoria Poole, cousins of the bride.
Program attendant was Andi Katherine Kersh. Registry attendant was Ree Herrington, cousin of the bride.
A reception was held in the Family Life Center of the church following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Pam Belvin, Nancy Covington, Sandra Herrington, Karen Kersh, Pam Kidd and Joan Speed.
After a honeymoon in Gulf Shores, Ala., the couple resides in Enterprise.
