Bill and Linda Scara Howard of New Bern, N.C., announce the engagement of their son, Justin Christopher, to Kristi Maki of Kirkland, Wash.
A summer wedding is planned.
Miss Maki is a graduate of Western Washington University with a degree in communications. She is employed by the Washington Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as the director of marketing events.
Mr. Howard is the grandson of the late Frances Gardner Scara. He attended Central Washington University. He is employed by The Summit at Snoqualmie Pass, Washington as manager of the rental shops.
