Clarkdale grabs two victories for Senior Night

CLARKDALE The Clarkdale Attendance Center boys and girls basketball teams picked up two victories at home on senior night at Clarkdale.
The Lady Bulldogs used four seniors to double visiting Noxapater in girls hoop action on Friday. Latasha Dixon led Clarkdale with 14 points while Misty Alexander added 11. Seniors JorDan Orr and Jody Hales contributed nine points each in the Lady Bulldog victory. Freshman Jayme Hales also had nine points on the evening.
Clarkdale's record is now 11-15. Noxapater was led by Lorita Bates with 10 points.

The Bulldogs took a 31-19 lead into halftime and never looked back in a 12 point win over Noxapater on Friday.
Three senior Bulldogs led Clarkdale in the victory. Matt Tucker had 18 points, while Brandon Mabry and Rock Kirksey both added 15 points for the Bulldogs.
Robert Lagrone led Noxapater with 15 points.
Patrician Academy boys 49
Wilcox Academy 36
The Saints won the the AISA-2A regional finals with a victory over Wilcox in boys prep action in Butler, Ala. Friday night.
Leading Patrician Academy was Roel Bekkers with 13 points. Bekkers was also selected as the tournament MVP. Hunter Campbell added 12 points and Travis Abate score 11 for the Saints.
Campbell and Brian Anderson were selected to the all-tournament team.
Patrician Academy will play in the first round of the state tournament in Montgomery on February 14, at noon.

Clark Prep 28
The Lady Saints assured themselves a spot in the state playoffs with a victory over Clark Prep in the AISA-2A regional finals on Friday.
Kristen Andrews scored a game high 21 points for the Lady Saints. Andrews and teammate Ashley Archibald were selected to the all-tournament team. Leslie Goodman was selected as the tournament MVP.
The Lady Saints will play in Montgomery in the first round of the state tournament on February 14, at 10:30 a.m.
Adams Christian boys 75
Lamar 69
Austin Roebuck' s triple-double was not enough as the Raiders fell to Adams Christian on Friday. Lamar came within three points with 15 seconds left in the game but missed some key free throws down the stretch.
Roebuck had 15 points, 10 blocked shots and 10 rebounds on the evening. Other Raiders in action were David Haggard with 15 points and Matthew Fort scored a game high 19 points.
Lamar will play at home tonight against Central Private of Baton Rouge at 5 p.m.
Newton County girls 59
Heidelberg 58
The Lady Cougars overcame a 43-40 fourth quarter deficit to knock off Heidelberg in girls hoop action Friday.
Newton County was led by Kristen Chaney with 21 points and Phyllis Cole with 13. Dominque Mapp added eight points and Andrea Dubose score seven.
Newton County finishes the regular season with a 17-10 record.
Choctaw Central girls 52
Forrest 27
The Lady Warriors finished the regular season with a record of 23-6. Leading the Lady warriors in th victory on Friday were Trish Phillips, 13 points, Kelly McWilliams, 10 and Willa Thomas, 13 points.
Choctaw Central boys 92
Forrest 84
Deion Lewis led the Warriors with 24 point sin the final game of the regular season for Choctaw Central. The Warriors finished the regular season at 22-7.
Shawn Daughtery had 22 and Shawm Ashapanek added 17 points in the Warrior win.
Thursday Prep Basketball Action Late
Patrician Academy girls 46
South Choctaw 23
The Lady Saints took a convincing victory over South Choctaw in the AISA-2A Area One-West Tournament on Thursday evening, 46-23.
Leslie Goodman led Patrician Academy and all scorers with 24 points. South Choctaw's Alanna Jackson scored 23 points. Patrician Academy will be back in action on Friday against Clark Prep.

Clark Prep 33
In boys action, the Saints handed Clark Prep a 19 point loss in opening round action of the AISA-2A Area One-West Tournament.
Roel Bekkers led Patrician Academy with 17 point sand Hunter Campbell added 11 points.
Dan Kina and Chris Etheridge scored eight points each for Clark Prep.
Patrician Academy has clinched the right to go to the state tournament with the win.
