Mandi Bay Johnston and Jason Kelly Alford were married in an 11 a.m. ceremony on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Blue Springs Baptist Church in Chunky with the Rev. Carlis Braswell, grandfather of the bridegroom, officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Johnston of Chunky, and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Alford of Collinsville.
Grandparents of the bride are Bessie Pearl Johnston of Hickory and the late Mr. Johnston, and Janet Rogers of Chunky and the late Mr. Rogers.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Carlis Braswell of Hattiesburg, and Nila Alford of Greenwood and the late Mr. Alford.
Maid of honor was Missy Johnson of Hickory and bridesmaid was Laya Johnston of Chunky, sister of the bride.
Billy Mack Kinard of Collinsville served as best man. Groomsman was Trent Gressett of Collinsville.
Others who participated in the ceremony were Becky Rogers, Heather Little, Keri Keith, Stacy Alford and Jackie Avant.
Following the ceremony, the parents of the bride hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall.
After a wedding trip to New Orleans, the couple resides in Chunky.
