Karen Leigh Combs of Meridian and Michael Scott Dennis of Cuba, Ala., were married Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Meridian with the Revs. Dr. Jimmy Williams of Meridian and David Byrd of Jasper, Ala., officiating.
Parents of the couple are Kane and Susan Combs of Meridian, Steve and Betsy Holcombe of Cuba and Scott Dennis of York, Ala.
Grandparents of the bride are Howard and Rubena Combs Sr., and Anita Chisolm and the late Howard Chisolm, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Pauline Brewer and the late William C. Brewer Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Byron Dennis, Mr. and Mrs. David Hatcher and Fred Holcombe, all of Cuba.
Nuptial music for the ceremony was provided by Amy Poole, vocalist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless gown with a beaded Alencon lace bodice featuring an A-line organza waistline embellished with beaded appliques. The skirt was finished with a satin ribbon that continued around the chapel-length train.
Angel Combs of Collinsville, sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor. Robbie Lawson of Collinsville served as maid of honor. Other attendants were Crystal Germany of Union and Brandy Temple of Meridian.
Shelby Averett of Cuba was flower girl.
Kyle Dennis of Quitman, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Craig Dennis of Cuba, Robbie Sheffield of Northport, Ala., and Mikie Harry of York. Ushers were Jason Combs of Collinsville, John Averett of Cuba, Jim Harper and Josh Josef, both of Meridian.
Jake Smith of Toomsuba was ring bearer. Registry attendants were Sara Havard, Madalyn Ivy and Ashley Williamson. Program attendants were Michelle Ball and Lydia Cook.
A reception was held at the family life center of the church following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Regena Clark, April Bush, Stacey Clark, Kelly Temple, Pam Temple and Sandy Temple.
After a honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Cuba, Ala.
