    Obituaries for Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Gadis Reginald "Reg" Porter will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery.
    Mr. Porter, 75, of Richland, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Rankin Medical Center in Jackson.
    Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Porter of Richland; daughters, Judy D. Fisher and her husband, Jim, of Brandon and Brenda G. Lollar and her husband, Hughie, of Weir; sons, Terry G. Porter and his wife, Diane Mobley, of Pearl and Randy G. Porter and his wife, Florence, of Richland; sister, Mavis Johnson of Clinton; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today 4 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Retired
    BUTLER, Ala. Services for Lt. Col. Robert Mason Tyson Jr. will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Morgan Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Braddock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Lt. Col. Tyson, 77, of Madison, Ala., died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Huntsville Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was the retired mayor of Robertsdale.
    Survivors include his sons, Neil Tyson of Harvest and Martin Scott Tyson of Durum, N.C.; a daughter, Christine Maria Tyson Wiggins of Richland, Ga. and a sister, Irene Norton Falls.
    Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the services at the church.
    Retired farmer
    PHILADELPHIA Services for David S. Williams will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Bethsaida Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy James and Claude Fleming Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Williams, 81, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Newton Regional Hospital.
    Survivors include his sister, Annie Mae Williams of Newton and several nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be Thursday 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians employee
    UNION Services for Frank Steve Sr. will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Conehatta Gym with the Rev. David Hamm officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine Catholic Church Cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Steve, 65, of Conehatta, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Laird's Hospital in Union. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church of Conehatta. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for seven years. During his 25 years of tenure on the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indian Tribal Counsel, he served as Vice Chief for 12 years, and was Secretary and Treasurer for 12 years. He served in the National Guard and was currently serving as manager over all facility buildings in all Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indian communities.
    Survivors include his wife, Benedicta Steve of Conehatta; a daughter, Stephanie Steve of Conehatta; two sons, Frank Steve Jr. of Philadelphia and Anthony Steve of Carthage; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Steve of Philadelphia and Martha Hall of Conehatta and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a son, Sean C. Steve; parents, Josie and Maggie Charlie Steve; brothers, Johnny Steve and Alford Isom; sisters, Ruby Chickaway and Vina Willis.
    Visitation will be today beginning at 11 a.m. at his home at 489 Mills Road in Conehatta.
    Retired
    SEBASTOPOL Services were held for Frank Henry on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church with the Revs. Doby Henry and Eugene Tubby officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Milling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Henry, 76, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a former hospital administrator and retired teacher. He was a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church where he served as song director for many years and was chairman of the building committee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
    Survivors include his wife, Annie Henry of Philadelphia; daughters, Georgia Ann Maret of Stillwater, Okla., Jennifer Henry and Jessica Henry, both of Philadelphia; three grandchildren; sisters, Corine Willis and Karen Ben, both of Philadelphia and Rachel Saldane of Modesto, Calif. and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Henry; a sister, Joy Jan Henry; brothers, Grady Henry, Larry Henry, John Wicks Henry, John Dennis Henry and Kenneth Henry.
    Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Julius Thomas, 91, of Enterprise, who died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson.
