Celebrating a century: Mildred Hood turns 100 years old

Mildred Hood, a resident of Terrace Manor in Russellville, was born May 20, 1925. She turned 100 years old on May 20, 2025. She went to school in Wigginton-Hackleburg and married Cecil Hood when she was “barely 18” around January 1, 1941.

Her hobbies have included sewing, reading and working in the garden. She is most proud of her four children – Vernon, Janice, Elaine and Terry. Growing up, her favorite playtime activity was playing with paper dolls. For a living, she worked in farming and as a homemaker. Her favorite holiday is Christmas, and she has especially enjoyed family visiting her house. If she could change something in her life, it would be waiting until she was older to get married.
