    OBITUARIES FOR JAN 4, 2001

    MARY T. DIXON THOMPSON
    Homemaker
    Services for Mary T. Dixon Thompson will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lauderdale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Davey Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Thompson, 72, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home. She was a member of Lauderdale United Methodist Church.
    Survivors include, her husband, Forrest "Brick" Thompson and a daughter, Carolyn Thorne and her husband, Bob, all of Lauderdale; two sons, Tommy Thompson and his wife, Lisa, of Palm Bay, Fla. and Earl "Rusty" Thompson of Scotts Bluff, Neb.; a brother, George Dixon of Lusk, Wyo.; two sisters, Lorraine Spillman of Witchita, Kan. and Viola Spillman of Bartlesville, Texas; seven grandchildren, Billy Thorne, Lori Segovia, Rob Thorne, Tiffany Miller, Ashley Thompson, Brian Thompson and Kyle Thompson; and 15 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, three brother and a sister.
    The family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
    Visitation will be Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
    REV. JOHN P. HILL
    Services for the Rev. John P. Hill will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at First Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Enterprise Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Rev. Hill, 93, of Meridian, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at East Mississippi Nursing Home.
    Survivors include three sons, Nathan Hill of Quitman, Theodore Hill of Stockton, Calif. and Joshua Hill of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Johnnie Pearl Hill Loper of Meridian; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at the church.
    ROY L. BOMAR
    Retired insurance agent
    Services for Roy L. Bomar will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Keith Grubbs and Bill Webb officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
    Mr. Bomar, 58, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a longtime member of the Briarwood Golf Group.
    Survivors include his wife, Ann Bomar, two sons, Matt Bomar and Ryan Bomar and his wife, Shannon, and a daughter, Aimee Bomar, all of Meridian; three grandchildren, Morgan Miller, Bryce Bomar and Dillon Bomar; a sister, Betty Tucker of Birmingham, Ala.; and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Bomar of Brentwood, Tenn.
    He was preceded in death by his brother, Julian Bomar.
    Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    MATTIE MYERS
    Homemaker
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Mattie Myers will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Neshoba County with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Myers, 81, of Carthage, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Leake Memorial Extended Care Facility in Carthage.
    Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth "Tootsie" Branning of Philadelphia and Glenda Herrington of Union; a sister, Katie Thompson of Grady, Ala.; three brothers, the Rev. Sam J. Hull of DeKalb, Maxwell Hull of Columbus and Railey Hull of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Myers.
    Visitation will be today from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    THOMAS J. BREWER
    Graveside services for Thomas J. Brewer will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Brewer, 74, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ARTHUR L. FERRILL
    Retired from Burlington Industry
    Services for Arthur L. Ferrill will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at First United Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Hood officiating. Burial will be in Musgrove Cemetery in Enterprise with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Ferrill, 87, of Stonewall, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Survivors include two sons, Douglas Raymond Ferrill of Meridian and Lonnie Ray Ferrill of Stonewall; two stepsons, Gene Otis Adams of Meridian and Leon D. Adams of Stonewall; two sisters, Lela Jordan of Pachuta and Mamie R. Anderson of Gulfport; a brother, Robert Ferrill of Gulfport; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents.
    Visitation will be Friday from 6-7 p.m. at the church.
    CARRIE L. FINLEY
    Employed with the Foster Grandparent Program of East Mississippi
    Services for Carrie L. Finley will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Cananna Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Finley, 70, of Meridian, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Riley Hospital.
    Survivors include five daughters, Ann Jackson of The Bronx, N.Y., Alma Love of Flint, Mich., Emma Brown and her husband, Joseph, of Weehawken, N.J., Danella Love of Meridian and Vivian Locke of New York; four sons, Curtis Smith of The Bronx, Willie Finley and his wife, Susan, of Flint, Robert Locke and his wife, Louise, of The Bronx, and Eddie Finley and his wife, Dianah, of New York; 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be Friday from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ELMO WALLACE
    Retired from Clarkco State Park
    Services for Elmo Wallace will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charlie Boose officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Wallace, 75, of Shubuta, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Riley Hospital.
    Survivors include his wife, Mamie Wallace of Shubuta; a daughter, Deloris Wallace Simpson of Quitman; a son, Eddie L. Wallace of Shubuta; seven sisters, Creola Roberts of Vossburg, Christine Vale, Fannie Ranson and Jessie Wallace, all of Shubuta, Hattie Wallace and Dora Wallace, both of Albany, N.Y.; and Earnestine Evans of Detroit; three brothers, Hardy Wallace, Roosevelt Wallace and Jimmie Wallace, all of Shubuta; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Quitman.
    RUDOLPH JACKSON
    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Rudolph Jackson, 69, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, in his home.
