Vina girls track team runner-up at sectionals

VINA — Vina varsity girls track finished runner- up at the Class 1A Northwest sectional track meet at Winfield last weekend. Fourteen 1A schools participated.

This marks the second year in a row Vina has finished as sectional runnerup.

Top finishers for Vina girls included:

• Olivia Crum first in triple jump, second in 300 hurdles, and sixth in 100 hurdle;

• Lindie Easterling second in 3200 and fifth in 1600;

• Samantha Elders second in 110 hurdles, fourth in high jump, fifth in 300 hurdles, and second in 4×800 relay;

• Addy Pannell fifth in high jump;

• Kinsley Newton fifth in 3200, sixth in 1600, and second 4×800 relay;

• Kaylee Davis fifth in 110 hurdles, seventh in 300 hurdles, and second in 4×800 relay;

• Cecilia Rowbottom sixth in discus, seventh in javelin, and 10th in shot put;

• Brenleigh Scott eighth in discus and long jump;

• Layla Hester 10th in long jump;

• Miley Pannell 10th in 200 meters;

• Bella Creekmore 10th in 800 meters and second in 4×800 relay.
