Council OKs Wilson Road land sale

PHIL CAMPBELL — The town council has voted in favor of the sale of 12 acres of townowned property on Wilson Road to Triple T Properties for $20,000.

The sale excludes a 0.33-acre parcel the town is retaining for its water tower.

Realtor Jarred Pierce said the sale was expected to close within the next two weeks.

Pierce said the town will pay the estimated closing costs totaling $1,600, including a $1,000 seller’s commission, $250 for deed preparation and $350 for title and insurance.

The town’s projected net income from the sale would be $18,400.
