Tharptown goes 4-2 for the week

The Tharptown Wildcat softball got off to a strong 4-2 start to their season in their opening week. The Wildcats beat Cherokee 10-0, Fayette County 5-0, Lynn 4-3 and Cordova 7-6, while falling to Haleyville in the season opener 6-2 and to Cordova 6-3.

Against Cherokee, Cadence Kennedy pitched a complete game no-hitter in the shutout. She struck out 10 batters.

At the plate, Lexie Little and Gabi Johnson had two hits each including a double each. Alyssa Fischer tripled. Alle Gann scored twice.

Against Fayette County, Kennedy was again dominant in the circle with a complete game two-hitter.

Johnson doubled in a run and Fischer singled in a run. Pasleigh Carr, Gann, Natalie Franks, and Jayden Partain all scored.

Against Lynn, Kennedy got the job done at the plate with two hits, including a double and two RBIs. Fischer, Carr, and Partain all crossed the plate.

Against Cordova, Fischer had two hits, an RBI and scored a run. Little doubled in two runs.

Despite the loss, Johnson had a three-hit game against Haleyville.

In the loss to Cordova, Partain had a two-RBI game. Fischer and Kennedy both doubled.
