Russellville man faces drug trafficking charge

RUSSELLVILLE — A Russellville man is facing a drug trafficking charge after agents with the Colbert County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in Ford City.

Agents had received information of possible drug activity taking place from 30 Mt. Pleasant Drive in Ford City.

When agents entered the residence, they found 2 ounces of crystal methamphetamines, 5 ounces of liquid methamphetamines, more than 700 Clonazepam (Klonopin) pills, and a small amount of fentanyl, according to Task Force Director Curtis Burns.

Some of the drugs were found in a back bedroom, while more drugs were found in a hidden space in a cabinet in the kitchen, Burns said.

Agents arrested and charged Patrick Niven McInnish, 52, with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug trafficking (meth).

McInnish was booked into the Colbert County Jail on a $350,000 bond.

McInnish has pleaded guilty to several drug crimes dating back to 2009, according to court records.

He pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance on Oct. 5, 2009, in Franklin County, according to court records. He was sentenced to 4 years in jail.

He later pleaded guilty to second-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance on Jan. 14, 2010, in Marion County. He was sentenced to five years’ probation, according to court records.

Two months later, McInnish pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree unlawful manufacturing a controlled substance in Lauderdale County. He was sentenced to 5 years in jail.

McInnish later pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance in Lauderdale County on July 30, 2013, according to court records. He was sentenced to 180 months in jail.
