July 8 – Senior Summer Soiree, Hodges – The Hodges Senior Center presents Senior Summer Soiree July 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at the senior center. The event includes refreshments, music, giveaways, door prizes, and other activities. Ages 55 and up.
July 12, 2025 – Community Yard Sale, Isbell Methodist Church: Isbell Methodist Church, located across from Franklin Homes, will have a community yard sale on Saturday, July 12, starting at 7 a.m. Vendors are invited to set up tables or trailers and enjoy the fellowship. A 10 percent fee of sales per setup will be collected. Early setup is permitted, weather permitting. The church is not responsible for items left unattended.
July 13–18 – Grace Baptist Church VBS, 6–8:30 p.m., 501 East Florence St., Russellville. Open to all ages.
July 14–16, 2025 –
Revival Meeting at James Chapel Baptist Church – Held Monday through Wednesday nights, beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. Evangelist: Bro. Jerry Humphries. Pastor: Bro. Kenneth Bond (256-3321937). The church is located on County Rd. 424 in Russellville. Everyone is welcome.
July 16–18 – Cedars Church VBS, 6–8:30 p.m. Cedars Church, located at 109 W. Lawrence St, Russellville, is holding a Vacation Bible School with the theme “God’s Great Galaxy.” Register via the Cedars Church app.
July 19 – Crooked Oak Baptist Church VBS, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., one day only. Includes lunch, bounce house, and waterslide. Bring a swimsuit and a towel.
July 19, 2025 –
Second Chance Canine Advocates, a local nonprofit 501c3, is hosting an event for anyone interested in collaborating together as a community to address the welfare and overpopulation of dogs in Russellville and Franklin County. It will be held Saturday, July 19 @ 10:00am at the Ralph C Bishop Community Center located at 201 Ash Avenue, Russellville.
July 19 – Franklin County Watermelon Pageant takes place July 19 in the Russellville City Schools auditorium. The deadline to register is June 19 at 4 p.m. Applications are open, and the registration fee is $50. That includes a photograph. Queens will be presented at the opening ceremony of the Watermelon Festival on Aug. 15.
July 19 – Spruce Pine bean dinner, car show: Why Knot Show ’em Off Car will hold a car show and cruise-in outside the Spruce Pine Community Center on July 19 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a $20 registration fee. Activities will include door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. All cars, trucks, bikes and RatRods are welcome. A bean dinner plate will be available in the community center starting at 11 a.m. Plates are $5 each. For information, call 256-6682585.
June 21 – Swap Meet:
A family friendly swap meet will take place June 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cowboy Church of Franklin County, 25100 Highway 24, Russellville. There is a non-refundable vendor fee of $10 for non-electric, and a nonrefundable vendor fee of $15 for electric. Bring your own tables and tents. Additional dates include Aug. 2, 16, 30; Sept. 13 and Sept. 27; Oct. 11 and Oct. 25 and Nov. 8 and Nov. 22. For information, call 256275-0730.
July 21–25 – Cowboy Church of Franklin County VBS, 6–8 p.m. Light meal served each evening.
August 2, 2025 – West Highland Baptist Church community cookout at 2 p.m. at 501 Westgate Drive, Russellville.
July 26 – Vina’s July Fest – The 34th annual July Fest in Vina kicks off at 10 a.m. and runs through 9 p.m., concluding with a fireworks show. Festivities include a car show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vendors, food, crafts, and music all day. Vendor booths (12×12) are available for $25.
