Letter to the Editor: Council gives thanks for Great Pretenders show

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Franklin County Arts and Humanities Council, Inc.,  I want to thank all the performers, sponsors and supporters of the “W. C. Handy Evening at the Roxy with the Great Pretenders.” It was a success!

This year marked the 23rd for the Arts Council to support the 43rd annual W. C. Handy Music Festival.  We have a lot of outstanding local talents, and we are so pleased to have the Historic Roxy Theatre as a local venue where they can perform.

Chase Sparks did a great job presenting the welcome and running the sound equipment.

Katrina Cole-Coffey was a wonderful emcee. The entertainers were awesome: Gunner Lane, Keylee Mayfield, Dana Hill, Buford Parker, Ariel Cothrum, Angela Townsel, Caroline Sparks, Sydney Medley, Bruce Hamilton and Lily Cate Pace.

The sponsors are appreciated for their continued support of the Arts Council and the Historic Roxy Theatre.

Gold Sponsors: Bank Independent; CB&S Bank; Clark Pulley; Community Spirit Bank; First Metro Bank; Valley State Bank;  Alabama Central Credit Union; Clark Pulley; Mayor David Grissom;  Green’s Dependable Hardware; Traditions Sports Deli; and Rhett Bradford State Farm.

Silver Sponsors: Sinclair-Lawrence & Associates Insurance; Wood-Thompson Insurance; Probate Judge Barry Moore; Franklin County Chamber of Commerce; Bedford, Rogers, Bowling & McReynolds, P.C.; Strickland & Barksdale, CPA and Russellville Florist & Gifts/Chase Sparks.
