Phil Campbell Hoedown gears up

The Phil Campbell Hoedown takes place June 16-17 in Memorial Park, located in downtown Phil Campbell. Music, fun and games promise to draw crowds in yet again for one of our area’s annual favorites, including music, food and games, as well as a bubble gum blowing contest. There is no charge to attend the festival. For questions, contact City Hall at 205-993-5313.

Events kick off Friday evening at 5:00 p.m. with an opening ceremony. Phil Campbell mayor, Mike McQuary, will give opening remarks, and “The Star Spangled Banner” will be played. A cruise-in will take place at Phil Campbell High School from 5-8:00 p.m. Friday evening’s musical lineup includes Bob Sellers at 6:00 p.m., Resound at 7:00 p.m., Purpose at 8:00 p.m. and The Dixie Echoes at 9:00 p.m.

Saturday, the opening ceremony takes place at 11:00 a.m. with Mayor McQuary giving the welcoming remarks, after which “The Star Spangled Banner” will play while the flag is raised.
The musical lineup includes various local talent and entertainers throughout the day, with Tangled Puppet at 2:00 p.m., Kayla Hamilton at 4:00 p.m., LA Outlaws at 5:00 p.m., Isabella Robertson at 6:30 p.m., Iron Horse Bluegrass at 7:00 p.m. and Treymayne at 9:00 p.m.
