    EDITOR’S NOTE: The date for this event was mistakenly first noted as March 5. The pageant will be **MARCH 4, Friday night! The FCT regrets the error and hopes everyone will mark their calendars for Friday night to support all these RHS ladies.

     

    The Russellville High School Annual Staff will sponsor the 40th annual Miss RHS Pageant March 4 at 7 p.m. in the RHS auditorium.

    The pageant offers an array of talent and beauty. Pageant coordinator Dr. AnnaKay Holland said the annual staff is thankful the Russellville community has been very generous this year. Miss RHS 2021 will be awarded more than $2,000 in cash and prizes.

    This year’s award sponsors are Artistic Jewelry, Russellville Florist & Gifts, Dr. Wayne and Lela Ray, Susie Malone, Maggie Coan, Addie Harbin, Kara Pendergrass, Kameo Salon, Joseph Romans Photography, Campbell Vision Center, Holly Nails, Maggie J’s Boutique, Lee Nails, 43 Grill, Ms. Nails, Salon St. Clair, Audrey’s Gifts and Décor, Russellville Nutrition, The Grind Café, Hilltop Restaurant, Wal-Mart, High Level Nutrition, American Health and Fitness, The Ville Nutrition, Hello Gorgeous, Hangout Nutrition, Suzy’s Clothing, Doe’s Eat Place, Frosty Inn, Judah Nails and Spa, Rancho Viejo Mexican Restaurant, Joyous Adventures – Cassie Goodwin, Los 2 Hermanos Market, The Mustard Seed Bakery, and Andersyn Jack.

    Sydney Medley, Miss RHS 2020, will be emceeing this year’s pageant. Lauren Mae Sturdivant, Miss RHS 2021, will also be assisting and performing.

    The contestants will be competing in judges’ interview, evening gown and talent. Escorts are Jared Davis, Kiah Derrick, Braxton Hipps, Nate Medley, Micco Jay Selosa and Jaben Wilcoxson. Dr. AnnaKay Holland is the coordinator of the pageant and Annual Staff sponsor. Cindy Coan is the pageant director.

    Tickets will be available at the door for $10.  Programs will be available for $5.

    “This event is one of the highlights of the year,” said Holland. “There will be lots of entertainment you will not want to miss.”

    “We are so excited to again have Rising Stars and Little Sisters at our pageant this year,” Holland added. “Each contestant in the pageant was asked to select two girls who are students in Russellville City Schools to assist in their performance. The Rising Stars are girls in grades kindergarten through fifth, and you will see these little ladies during the evening gown revue. The Little Sisters are girls in grades sixth through eighth, and they will be introducing themselves and the talent for their Big Sister during the talent portion of the pageant.

    “It is hoped that these young ladies will use this opportunity to be in front of this audience and one day want to be contestants in the Miss RHS pageant,” Holland said. “We are continuing to build traditions – something we are very good at doing at Russellville City Schools.”

    Miss RHS Rising Stars are Ava Bianco, Annalesa Bonds, Baylor Bradford, Mae Campbell, Madeline Campos, Tinley Cleveland, Brilynn Green, Kerby Grissom, Ruby Gist Harbin, Zoe Jane Hartsell, Lyza Shaw Herring, Hadley Kate Horton, Elliana Inmon, Kennadie Keeton, Charlee Knight, Lupita Martinez, Adley Grace Odom, Collins Odom, Raylee Peden, Kingzlee Poss, Lillain Grace Ritter, Amzie Lynn Stough, Genesis Tristan and Ivy Elizabeth Willis.

    Miss RHS Little Sisters are Allison Ambrosio, Jaley Mae Bragwell, Darlene Campos, Camden Carson, Ella Copeland, Lilliana Figueroa, Emmy Green, Erin Hope Grimes, Madelyn Hatton, Aubree Hyde, Macie Cate Jackson, Chloe James, Audrey Claire Kiel, Isabella Malone, Bri McCulloch, Kalei Mitchell, Sadie Grace Odom, Audrey Oliver, Haylee Elizabeth Patrick, Raney Stone, Alexa Trapp, Ansley Kathryn Willis and Ellie Willis.

    The proceeds from this event will benefit students by defraying their cost of the yearbook. Holland, Coan and the Tiger Track Annual Staff hope everyone will come and support our RHS students.

     

    Contestant 1: Ella Leeann Colagross
    Talent: Tap dance routine – “I Got Rhythm”
    Ella is the daughter of John and Brea Colagross. She is a freshman at RHS and is involved in the Future Business Leaders of America, junior varsity cheer squad and Christian Students United. She is the Student Council freshman liaison and the freshman class president, while also serving as the project chairperson of the Technology Student Association.

    Contestant 2: Hailey Daniela Rogers
    Talent: Baton routine – “Proud Mary”
    Hailey is the daughter of Neil and Stephanie Rogers. As a freshman at RHS, she is a majorette with the RHS Marching Hundred. She is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and Christian Students United. She participates in baton competitions and in her church youth group.

    Contestant 3: Lexie Wells
    Talent: Jazz dance – “Swing,” Trace Adkins
    Lexie is the daughter of Chad and Terri Wells. She is a freshman at RHS and a member of the junior varsity cheer squad. She is also a member of the varsity softball team.

    Contestant 4: Emma Campbell
    Talent: Demonstrating the overhead velocity of a softball throw
    Emma is the daughter of Jeremy and Amy Campbell. As a sophomore at RHS, she is active in her church youth group and is a lifeguard. She is a member of the varsity softball team and varsity volleyball team. She is also the treasurer for Christian Students United, a member of Future Business Leaders of America and a member of the Annual Staff.

    Contestant 5: Destiny Taylor-Kate Elkins
    Talent: Dance routine – “This is Me,” Kesha
    Destiny is the daughter of Shane Elkins and Craig and Angela Bullion. She is a sophomore at RHS and a member of the varsity softball team and varsity volleyball team. She is also a member of the Future Business Leaders of America.

    Contestant 6: Halle Reese Grimes
    Talent: Piano performance – “Comptine D’un Autre Ete: L’apres- Midi,” Yann Tierson
    Halle is the daughter of Heath and Amy Grimes. She is a sophomore at RHS and serves as co-captain of the RHS junior varsity cheer squad. She also participates in Christian Students United, Future Teachers of America and the Student Booster Club. She is also a student ambassador for the Alabama Sports Festival Foundation.

    Contestant 7: Stella Claire Hill
    Talent: Open lyrical dance – “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” Celine Dion
    Stella is the daughter of Eric and Tara Hill. As a sophomore at RHS, she is a member of the varsity cheer squad. She is a member of the Christian Students United Club, Future Business Leaders of America and the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. She is also a technique dance and tumbling instructor at Addie’s Flip, Tip and Tap.

    Contestant 8: Peyton Leigh Parrish
    Talent: Tap dance routine – “Dancing Fool,” from the Broadway musical, “Copacabana”
    Peyton is the daughter of Ralph and Suzanne Parrish. She is a sophomore at RHS and a member of the varsity tennis team. She is also involved in Calvary Baptist Church’s youth group. Additionally, she is a member of the Christian Students United Club, Future Business Leaders of America, the Annual Staff and the Student Booster Club.

    Contestant 9: Drew Caroline Reed
    Talent: Twirling baton – “Boogie Shoes”
    Drew is the daughter of Amy Reed and the late Steve Reed. As a sophomore at RHS, she is a member of the Health Occupations Students of America and the Key Club.  She is also a member of the Marching Hundred as a majorette.

    Contestant 10: Chloe Sheffield
    Talent: Jazz dance – “Hold My Hand,” Jess Glynne
    Chloe is the daughter of Chad Sheffield and Karri Cummings. She is a sophomore at RHS and a member of the varsity cheer squad. She is also a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Christian Students United, RHS Performing Arts and the Student Booster Club.

    Contestant 11: Kaitlin Hope Speck
    Talent: Vocal performance – “The Climb,” Miley Cyrus
    Kaitlin is the daughter of Chris and Talia Speck. As a sophomore at RHS, she is a member of the junior varsity cheer squad and tennis team. She also is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Christian Students United, Student Booster Club, Future Teachers of America and RHS Performing Arts.

    Contestant 12: Annie Claire Willis
    Talent: Dance routine – “Stand By Me,” Ben E. Kind, and “9 to 5,” Dolly Parton
    Annie is the daughter of Nick and Heather Willis. She is a sophomore at RHS and a member of the varsity cheer squad. She also participates in Christian Students United and the Future Business Leaders of America.

    Contestant 13: Kimberly Campos
    Talent: Piano performance – “Turning Page”
    Kimberly is the daughter of Nehemias Campos and Matilde Juarez. She is a junior at RHS and a member of the Marching Hundred and concert band. She is a member of Christian Students United, the Science Club, AP History Club and Musical Theatre.

    Contestant 14: Silvie Miller
    Talent: Hip-hop clogging routine – Bruno Mars Remix
    Silvie is the daughter of Lee and Trisha Miller. She is a junior at RHS and a member of the RHS varsity cheer squad. She is also involved in Annual Staff, Student Booster Club and Christian Students United. In addition, she serves as the vice president of the Future Teachers of America Club.

    Contestant 15: Yadmil Perez Gabriel
    Talent: Marimba performance – “The Professional,” Robbie Green
    Yadmil is the daughter of Antonio and Leybi Perez Gabriel. As a junior at RHS, she is a part of the Marching Hundred, Library Club and Student Council. She also participates in the Future Business Leaders of America and the Annual Staff.

    Contestant 16: Keslie Brook Allen
    Talent: Speed painting – “Jailhouse Rock,” Elvis Presley
    Keslie is the daughter of Michael and Heather Allen. She is a senior at RHS and a member of the varsity cheer squad. She is a member of the Franklin County Junior Leaders, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society.

    Contestant 17: Madeline Elizabeth Cooper
    Talent: Musical theatre vocal performance – “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from the Broadway musical “Funny Girl”
    Madeline is the daughter of Matt and Greta Cooper. She is a senior at RHS, where she is a member of the Franklin County Junior Leaders, RCS Youth Leadership Academy, varsity cheer squad and Musical Theatre. She is also a member of the Tharptown Student Ministry Praise Band.

    Contestant 18: Sophie Caroline Hill
    Talent: Musical theatre routine – “Grease Mix,” Olivia Newton-John
    Sophie is the daughter of Eric and Tara Hill. As a senior at RHS, she participates in the RCS Youth Leadership Academy, RCS Stakeholder Council, varsity cheer squad and Career Technical Advisory Board. She is also the Cosmetology Club president.

    Contestant 19: Camille Faith Lynn
    Talent: Vocal performance – “On My Own,” from the musical, “Les Misérables”
    Camille is the daughter of Joshua and Chrissy Lynn. She is a senior at RHS and a member of the varsity volleyball team. She also participates in the Franklin County Junior Leaders and in Health Occupation Students of America as project chairperson. She is also the Christian Students United outreach chairperson and a member of the RHS Youth Leadership Academy.

    Contestant 20: Kaitlyn Reed
    Talent: Baton routine – “Someone in the Crowd” 
    Kaitlyn Reed is the daughter of Matthew and Amy Reed. She is a senior at RHS, where she serves as Mu Alpha Theta treasurer and Annual Staff senior editor. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Franklin County Junior Leaders, and she plays on the RHS girls golf team.

    Contestant 21: Caroline Alise Sparks
    Talent: Piano and vocal performance – “Easy On Me,” Adele
    Caroline is the daughter of Philip and Andrea Sparks. As a senior at RHS, she is a member of the varsity volleyball team, Student Booster Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Musical Theatre and Franklin County Junior Leaders.

    Contestant 22: Tori Tiffin
    Talent: Acro/jazz dance – “My Boyfriend’s Back”
    Tori is the daughter of Jason Tiffin and Jennifer and Brian Pace. She is a senior at RHS and a member of the RHS varsity cheer squad as co-captain. She also participates in the RHS Acapella Ensemble and Christian Students United. Additionally, she serves as FCCLA secretary.

    Contestant 23: Kimberly Zatarain Avalos
    Talent: Color guard performance – “Set Fire To The Rain,” Adele
    Kimberly is the daughter of Yuridia Avalos. She is a senior at RHS and a member of the Marching Hundred Color Guard. In addition, she also participates in the marching band, Skills USA and JROTC. She is also a member of the National Honor Society.
