Support county Easter egg hunts

We’re pretty big on festivals here in Franklin County, from the Watermelon Festival, to the Hoedown, to Founders Day, to July Fest and more.

Community events are always well-supported in our communities, attended by citizens who love mingling with their friends and neighbors and enjoying Franklin County fun.

Countians don’t have to wait until this summer for the next opportunity to experience a great local event. Easter will be celebrated April 21 this year, and there will be several opportunities leading up to this holiday for local families to enjoy a classic Easter egg hunt together.

The Chamber of Commerce, of course, has hosted Russellville and Red Bay hunts for quite some time and added a Phil Campbell hunt a couple of years ago. Children can scope out some candy and meet the Easter bunny April 13 at 10 a.m. in Russellville, 12:30 p.m. in Phil Campbell or 3 p.m. in Red Bay. These family-friendly events are sure to provide a fun time for all, and we know the Chamber members work hard to provide a festive atmosphere and great prizes to keep Easter “hoppy” – we couldn’t resist.

Additionally, at least two more Easter egg hunts are planned this month for Franklin County children. The Vina Civitan Club will host a hunt April 13 at 10 a.m. at the Vina Fire Department, and Country Cottage in Russellville will offer a hunt April 20 at 10 a.m.

Each of these local Easter egg hunts provide an opportunity for Franklin County residents to get out of the house and celebrate the season in community, joining with other local citizens for some spirited family fun.

We hope you will take the chance to support these great events, which are hosted through the hard work of dedicated individuals.

They are sure to provide an eggs-cellent good time.
