Red Bay FBLA treats teachers

Red Bay High School Business and FBLA classes provided treats for faculty and staff Feb. 14 as part of National FBLA week. Students served these treats to teachers wearing their very best business attire.

Sarah Hardin, FBLA sponsor and business teacher at RBHS, said she encourages the students to always look their best when at school and hopes this opportunity to dress business appropriate will show students how important dressing professionally in the workplace can be.

“New fashion trends might be in style but not necessarily appropriate,” said Hardin.  “The best way to operate is avoid walking the line. If there is doubt, select something else to wear. It is important to be professional.”

There is a week in February set aside specifically for FBLA, and Hardin said she wanted to use this opportunity to show appreciation to the teachers and faculty and also give the students the chance to dress in the business attire for the day – and see what it is like to wear it for the entire school day.

“I believe professional dress is a life skill you can learn through FBLA and Career Prep,” said Hardin. “When you interview for a job, you must know how to dress for success.  Image means a lot in today’s society.”

While serving refreshments to faculty and staff, students took the time to let them all know how much they appreciate what they do and how they have helped them along during their high school careers.
