Phil Campbell, Tharptown move up in classifications

By Bart Moss / For the FCT

The Alabama High School Athletic Association has released new classifications for the 2018-2020 athletic seasons – bringing some big changes for two Franklin County schools.

Because of enrollment increases, Phil Campbell will make the jump from 2A to 3A. Tharptown will jump from 1A to 2A.

All other county schools will remain in their current classification: Belgreen and Vina are 1A; Red Bay is 2A; and Russellville is 5A.
