Waste Water Treatment Plant renamed for past manager
The renaming of the Russellville Waste Water Treatment Plant honors former manager Radford “Joe” Murray and his long-lasting contribution and dedication.

Russellville’s Waste Water Treatment Plant now bears the name of someone important to its history.
Thursday the plant was dedicated and renamed in honor of Radford “Joe” Murray.
“Joe was the manager for 33 years, and that sewer plant project had been started,” said manager Doug Clement.
Murray, Clement said, “was here to make sure everything out there was finished,” during the expansion of the plant, completed in 1999.
Murray died last year, and Clement said this seemed a fitting tribute.
“When Joe passed away, we decided there needed to be something done in his memory,” Clement said. “I took it to the board to get them to listen to what I had to say … There’s not many things we have in our system that we can name for people.”
But a small monument announcing the name of the plant will now honor Murray and recognize his dedication to the Water Works and Sewer Board.
“We wanted Joe’s name to be a part of our company for many years to come,” Clement said.
