For a show featuring all the greats – or at least, convincing mimics – people can look no further than the upcoming Evening at the Roxy.

An annual event during the W.C. Handy Music Festival, Evening at the Roxy is set for July 23 at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Franklin County Arts and Humanities Council and features the “Great Pretenders,” which this year will include “Uptown Funk.”

“We usually have a pretty good crowd,” said FCAHC President Susie Malone. “The community really supports us.”

The following is a list of some of the entertainers scheduled to perform: Jacob Green, Rodney Smith, Billy Boyd, Barry “Spike” Cleghorn, Jayne Wells, Chase Holland, Lauren Stroud Ritter, Tara James Greenhill, Ashley Cummins, Ally Oliver, Lucas Sheppard, Angela Potter, Kellie Copeland Hargett, C.R. Hood, Gary Cummings, Mike Mayhall, Chris Yow, John Pilati, Kaid Wright, Jaimie Copeland, Suzanne Pitt, Kelly Wells, Valerie Copeland, Lexie Glass and the Copelands.

Special to the event this year is the debut of “Uptown Funk,” comprising Danyelle Hillman, Peter Hillman Sr., Peter Hillman Jr., Howard Hillman, Brianna Hillman, Alex Hillman and Jaelin Hawkins.

“It’s all local people, from businesses or parts of Russellville,” Malone said. “You would be surprised out how talented some of these people are.”

Katernia Cole, with the Franklin County Extension, will emcee this year’s event.

Tickets are $5 (free for children age 6 and younger) and will be sold at the door. Concessions will be sold, including drinks, popcorn and candy, for $1-2 apiece.

For more information, visit www.historicroxytheatre.com or find the historic Roxy on Facebook.

The Arts Council will also be showing “Grease” July 31 at 7 p.m. as part of its Blast from the Past Movie Series.
