Golden Tigers golf continues solid season

Over the Spring Break, the Russellville Golden Tigers boys golf team traveled to Sylacauga, Ala. to play in an 18-hole tournament, on Monday, April 13.

The boys took home second place out of fourteen teams with Eli Hodges and Joshua Seal leading the team and also finishing in the top five in individual play. Both were medalists.

Hodges led with a 75 and Seal followed closely with a 76. Luke Bendall and Cameron DeArman each shot an 81. Blake Bendall finished with an 82, Tristan Tubb shot an 85, and Jaceton Murray finished with a 92. Next, the Golden Tigers played in a match at their home course, Twin Pines, on Tuesday, April 21. The boys shot a 298 gaining a win over Lawrence County.

Hodges led the team with a score of 69. Seal finished with a 75, Tubb with a 76, Luke Bendall shot a 79, DeArman came in with a 77, and Blake Bendall finished with an 81.

The boys hosted sectionals at Twin Pines on April 28. If the boys place well at sectionals, they will move on to the Sub-State tournament, which will take place at Sylacauga Country Club on Monday, May 4.
