Russellville girls rally to upset Tharptown 48-44

The Russellville Lady Golden Tigers used a strong second half to stage a comeback in their 48-44 defeat of the Tharptown Lady Wildcats on Monday.

Tharptown jumped out to a 23-14 first half lead but the Lady Golden Tigers started clawing their way back in the third quarter cutting the Wildcats lead to 34-29.

Russellville outscored Tharptown 19-10 in the fourth quarter to take the lead and the win the game.

Russellville’s Ashley Dunstan led all scorers with 24 points. Others scoring for the Golden Tigers were Andela Woods (7), Peyton Hester (7), Megan Broadway (3), Aleshia Miller (2), Victoria Jackson (2), Jakori Suggs (2), and Thesesa Tompkins (1).

Kamri Sears led Tharptown with 12 points. Others scoring for the Wildcats were Savannah Hamilton (7), Kaitlyn Vandiver (7), Haley Malone (6), Jessica Wilson (6), Danielle Creasy (3), and Kathy Alfaro (3).
