Selwyn G. (Sam) Bradford, 82, Russellville, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012, at his residence.

He was a native of Lawrence County, but lived most of his life in Franklin County.  He was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged receiving the Bronze Service Stars and United Nations Service Medal. He retired from Reynolds Metals Company with 25 years of service.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 10, 2012, 2 p.m., at Tharptown Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Miller and Bro. Eddie Wix officiating.  The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Tharptown Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Eulene Warhurst Bradford, Russellville; children, Susan Bradford Hall and husband, Terry, Nancy Bradford Bowling and husband, Greg, Deanna Bradford Hollimon and husband, Russell, all of Russellville; grandchildren, Jonathan Hall, Anne-Marie Hall, Brad Bowling, Daniel Hollimon, Caroline Hollimon; a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Terry Hall, Jonathan Hall, Greg Bowling, Brad Bowling, Russell Hollimon and Daniel Hollimon.

Honorary bearers will be Bruce James, Charles Scott, DeWayne Warhurst, Doug Coan, Joey Coan and Deacons of Tharptown Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by parents, Grover C. and Ila Caroline Bradford.
