Program to help victims cope
Even though it has been almost two months since the deadly tornadoes claimed the lives of family and friends in Franklin County, many people are still dealing with the effects of the loss of loved ones, their homes and other things of value.
To help with the grieving process, The Healing Place is sponsoring “Hope after the Storm” for children ages three to 19 and for adults. The event will take place Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Phil Campbell School cafeteria.
Activities for the children will include arts and crafts, new friends, games and other activities. For the adults, information about normal feelings, thoughts and behaviors; coping with loss; handling fears and other information will be available.
Free pizza, chips and beverages will be served and anyone who might be interested in more information about receiving grief support is encouraged to attend.
