Police charge man for not registering as sex offender
A local man previously charged with sexually-related crimes was arrested last Tuesday when authorities discovered he had not registered as a sex offender after moving to Franklin County.
Arthur Rogers Hill, 53, 390 Franklin 93, Russellville, was charged with failure to register as a sex offender and the Alabama Community Notification Act violation of a sex offender living with a minor, Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said.
According to Oliver, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department received a call that Hill was a registered sex offender out of Winston County and that he was staying at a residence on Franklin 93.
Officers soon discovered that Hill had not registered as a sex offender in Franklin County and that there were also minor children living in the home with him. Hill was arrested and charged without incident. He was released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
