Proposed upgrades at Sloss Lake Park good idea

The decision by the City of Russellville to pursue upgrades to Sloss Lake Park is a good choice for the citizens of the area.

The plan to construct a new walking trail and upgrade an existing trail will benefit the community in several ways.

First it will provide an extra walking trail for people who enjoy walking for exercise. More people will be able to take advantage of exercising while taking in the lake’s beauty without worrying about overcrowding on a single trail.

Second the upgraded park will be another tool for recruiting new business to Franklin County. New industries want their employees to live in a place with several quality of life attractions to help maintain the happiness of the employees, which leads to better production.

Third it will help boost pride in the community.

Hopefully the city will get the grant allowing them to pursue this project. It will be an asset for the community.
