    Clarence P. Pounders

    Clarence Patton Pounders, 73, of Russellville, died Friday, June 5 at his residence.
    Visitation was Sunday, June 7 at Spry Memorial Chapel, and the funeral service was Monday, June 8 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with Bro. Jerry Hester of Rockwood Baptist Church officiating.. Interment was at Pounders Cemetery.
    He is survived by his wife, Nelda Sue Pounders; daughter Susan and her husband Anthony Brackin; granddaughters Jessica Marie Parrish and Jayde Nicole Brackin; sons Larry Brackin and wife Beverly of Tennesee; Billy Pounders of Tennessee, Ricky Pounders of Russellville, C.D. Pounders of North Carolina and Paul Pounders and wife Cindy of Russellville; sister Beatrice Howard and nephew Clifford and wife Diane Pounders of Russellville.
    Clarence Pounders was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Russellville.
    Lessie Mae Sally Davis

    Lessie Mae Sally Davis, 77, of Russellville, died Saturday, June 6 at Russellville Hospital.
    Visitation was Monday, June 8, at Spry Memorial Chapel and the funeral service was Tuesday, June 9 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with Bro. James McCullar officiating. Interment was at Franklin Memory Gardens.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Shaddie Lee Davis; son, Mickey Davis and parents Joe and Nellie Hulsey.
    She is survived by her children Danny Davis, and wife Barbara, of Huntsville; Miranda "Ren" Ruth, and husband Bob, of Louisville, Miss.; Tommy Davis, and wife Susan, of Philadelphia, Miss. and Legina Mathis of Florence; grandchildren Scott Ruth, Lisa Davis, Julie Smith, Michael Davis, Malana "Sissy" Davis and Joseph Davis; nine great-grandchildren; brother, James Hulsey of Russellville; son-in-law Steve Mathis; and several nieces and nephews.
    Pallbearers were Scott Ruth, Joseph Davis, Greg Manning and Steve Mathis. Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandsons.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and nurses of Russellville Health Care. She was known by her friends as Sally, to her kids as Momma, to her grandkids as Momma Davis and great-grandchildren as G.G. She will be forever in our hearts.
    Thelma Strickland Taylor
    June 5, 2009
    Thelma Strickland Taylor, 96, died Friday, June 5, at Red Bay Hospital. She was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Franklin County to Richard and Mattie Crowe Strickland. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
    Visitation was Sunday, June 7, at Deaton Funeral Home and the funeral services were Monday, June 8, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, with Bro. Silas Oliver officiating. Burial was at Cedar Creek Cemetery.
    She is survived by her granddaughter Rhonda Chrestman, and husband Joe, of Tupelo, Miss; daughter-in-law Carolyn Taylor of Red Bay; and great-grandchildren Ryan Boyd, Meagan Boyd and Colt Boyd.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Taylor; her son Royce Taylor; her grandson Rodney Taylor; brothers Roy Strickland, Aulsie Strickland, Aubrey Thomas Strickland, Thurmond Strickland and Harley Strickland; and sisters Orian Harris and Verlon McKinney.
    Pallbearers were Harold Strickland, Aussie Bolton, John Taylor, Phillip Fowler, Jimmy Boyd and Scott Tepper.
    Dr. Charles Pritchard
    June 8, 2009
    Dr. Pritchard died Monday, June 8, 2009 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. He was 72 years old.
    Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Trinity Episcopal Church followed by an 11 a.m. service. Father Milton Glor will officiate. A private burial will follow in Russellville. Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Clarence D. Pritchard and his mother, Vivienne Taylor Montedonico.
    He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Dr. Pritchard practiced general surgery in Florence until his retirement. He was loved and revered by all he treated.
    His great loves in life were medicine, boats, his dogs and a good gin rummy game. He was a member and past President of Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club.
    Dr. Pritchard is survived by his brother, Clifton Coldiron of Florence; sister, Ann Murray (Shade) of Nashville, TN; nieces, Julia Coldiron of Florence, and Carter Dawson (Chris) of Nashville; nephew Shade Murray, III, of Chicago.
    Pallbearers will be Dr. Terry Tinsley, Dr. Alan Pritchard, Dr. Andy Pritchard, Mr. Uhland Redd, Mr. Herbert Harris, Mr. Paul Jones, Mr. Craig Hennecy and Mr. Walter Matthews.
    Our deepest gratitude to the doctors and medical staff at ECM Hospital and especially to Renee Glover, Tina Martin, Betty Belew, and Melody Davis for their loving care during Dr. Pritchard's illness.
    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lauderdale County Animal Shelter, 702 E. College Street, Florence, AL 35630 or the charity of your choice.

    Maude Opal Causler, 88 of Phil Campbell, died Monday June 8 at Russellville Hospital.
    Visitation will be Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. at the Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following. Bro. Andy Cansler will be officiating. Interment will be in the Spruce Pine Cemetery.
    She is survived by daughters Teresa, and husband Buell, Cansler and Sheila, and husband Robert, Murray; grandchildren Gerri, Kini, Keith, Tina, Ginger, Jason, Brad and Katie; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
