Eva Morrow Woodham, 82, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at the Care Center in Red Bay, Ala. She was born Nov. 3, 1926, in Franklin County, Ala., to Sid and Verna Horton Morrow. She was a factory worker and a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church No 1.
Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 4 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Eugene Digby officiating. Burial was in Berry Cemetery in Vina.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Daniel and husband Joel of Red Bay; granddaughter, Carla Daniel Turner and husband Brett of Fairfax Station, Va.; sisters, Ruby Wilson and Eyvon Parker, both of Red Bay; and Wilma Wilson of Vina; sisters-in-law, Gloria Morrow of Hackleburg and Jean Cason Woodham of Hamilton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, V.D. Woodham; her parents; and brother, S.J. Morrow.
Pallbearers were Bryon Morrow, Donnie Wilson, Danny Parker, Terry Wilson, Jon Morrow and James Spencer.

Wilma Jane McCarley of Gadsden, Ala., formerly of Russellville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at Gadsden Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Arflackp; sons, Glen and Helen McCarley, Larry McCarley and Rickey McCarley; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orban McCarley; parents, Mack and Clarabell Churchwell; three sisters; and three brothers.

William Henry "Bill" Pennington, 88, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Russellville Hospital.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Eddie Caskey, Bro. Bill Pennington Jr. and Bro. Hank Pennington officiating. Interment was in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his children, William Henry Pennington Jr. and wife Marilyn of Atlanta, Ga., Donald LeRoy Pennington and wife Rena of Russellville, Marsha Joyce Hunt and husband Mike of Nashville, Tenn., Wanda Carol Dobbins and husband Dallas of Birmingham and Kaye Evelyn McDonald and husband Ron of Montgomery; brothers, Leonard Pennington, Jerry Pennington and Dale Pennington; sisters, Bobbie Gilbert, Freida Searcy and Denise Pennington; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Earlene Gilbert; parents, Fred and Eula Pennington; and brothers, Robert Pennington, Jimmy Pennington and Warren Allen Pennington.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Mike Pennington, Donnie Pennington, Dax Pennington, Shane Hunt, Jason Hunt, Neil Dobbins and Jack Dobbins. Honorary pallbearers were his sons-in-law, Mike Hunt, Ron McDonald and Dallas Dobbins.

Otha Laney West

Otha Laney West, 58, of Phil Campbell, Ala., passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at Shoals Hospital.
He lived all his life in Franklin County and was a member of Phil Campbell Church of God. He was a self-employed truck driver.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Donald Davis and Benjamin Phillips officiating. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda West; children, Chris West and Audrey Stiles, both of Phil Campbell; sister, Libby DeVaney of Spruce Pine; brother, Wayne West of Spruce Pine; grandchild, Bethany Stiles; step-grandchild, Natalie Stiles; and five nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otha and Retha West.
Austin Nelson Holden

Nelson Nelson Holden, 88, of Mitchell-Hollingsworth in Florence, formerly of Spruce Pine, Ala., passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at ECM Hospital in Florence.
He was a native of Franklin County and a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. He was retired from TVA and Shook &Fletcher.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Bro. Jerome Sherrill and Bro. Mike Stancil officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens in Russellville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madge Pursley Holden; brothers, Odie Holden and Herman Holden; and sisters, Nola Burfield and Lou Ella Massey.
He is survived by his children, Leon Holden and wife Jan of Montgomery, Dorothy Stancil and husband Lonnie of Spruce Pine, Linda Vinson and husband Ronald of Phil Campbell, Jeanette Bray and husband David of Spruce Pine, Paulette Ledbetter and husband Ken of Hamilton, Robert Holden and wife Stacy of Wetumpka and Ann Hicks and husband Robert of Spruce Pine; brother, Troy Holden of Russellville; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Shane Stancil, Bill Bray, Andrew Bray, Matthew Vinson, Wesley Holden, Aaron Ledbetter, Blake Holden and Corey Nicholson.
