Robert Reed (Bob) Grissom

Robert Reed (Bob) Grissom, 60, of Russellville, died May 22, 2007 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Thursday at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Bro. David Jones and Bro. Joe Lennox officiating. Pallbearers were Tom Pace, Danny McDowell, Ron McCulloch, James King, Bill Jackson, Ray Fretwell, Jerry Rains, Billy Fuller Jr., Curtis Grissom, and Robin Grissom. Honorary pallbearers included Milford Brown, Larry Morris, David Hicks, Eric Harris, Rickie Harris, Jeff Smith, Patrick James, Milton Garrison, Rhuel Holland, and Bill Trapp. Masonic rites will be performed graveside by Bro. Gerald Borden. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
He was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of Rockwood Baptist Church. He was a 1964 graduate of Russellville High School and a member of the Russellville National Guard for 6 years. He was the owner and operator of Grissom Car Wash in Russellville for many years.
He along with his wife Judy and son David owned and operated Diamond House Jewelry for 24 years. Presently, he and his son David own and operate Alabama Gun and Pawn in Russellville, Alabama Title and Pawn in Haleyville, Alabama Title and Pawn in Moulton and Red Bay, Alabama Super Pawn in Sheffield, and Cash Spot in Russellville. He was a member of Russellville Masonic Lodge #371. He became a Master Mason on September 11, 1975. He was elected Master of Russellville Lodge #371 in June 1978 and served until June of 1979.
He enjoyed the outdoors. Most recently, he enjoyed deer hunting trips, the pheasant hunting trips to South Dakota, trap shooting, fishing, and boating on Little Bear Lake with his son, friends, and family. He received a special gift from God on July 15, 2005, a granddaughter, Kate Reed Grissom, who was named after his mother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Kate Grissom.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Judy Keeton Grissom, of Russellville; his son David Reed Grissom (Melissa), of Russellville; granddaughter, Kate Reed Grissom, of Russellville; sisters, Dot Denney, of Russellville, and Ann Tompkins (R.H.), of Belgreen; nephews, Mark Tompkins (Tamra), Mike Tompkins (Ginger), and Randy Denney (Hope); and niece, Pam Hester (Tyrus).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Russellville Masonic Lodge #371, P.O. Box 300, Russellville, Alabama 35653.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
