Russellville man indicted by I.C.E.

A Russellville man was indicted by the Alabama ICE (Isolate the Criminal Element) for possession of a firearm, which is prohibited because of previous felony convictions.
Jerry Wayne Roland, 33, was among a total of 16 unrelated indictments for felons found with a firearm, Jill Ellis, public information contact for the US Department of Justice, Northern Alabama District, said.
"The defendants involved are considered to be habitual offenders. Alabama ICE is a very useful tool to rid the communities of the Northern District of Alabama of habitual violent offenders," Alice H. Martin, U.S. attorney, said.
Roland could receive up to five years in federal prison for this violation, Ellis said.
Roland has been charged with stalking, aggravated stalking, bringing stolen property into the state, receiving stolen property 1st and 2nd, reckless driving, and running a red light, Joey Rushing, district attorney, said.
In addition to these charges, there are charges pending in Tennessee for allegedly stealing a forestry officer's truck, and other items, Rushing said. Pre-trial hearing in Franklin County court will be held Monday, Dec. 4. Roland is currently in police custody at secure facility, Rushing said.
