Dalton "Dee" Cox, age 86, of Hamilton, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Cox was born March 18, 1920, in Franklin County to Daniel Cox and Cora Wiginton Cox. He was a construction worker and owned and operated a construction business. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Emma Jean Holley Cox; his second wife, Linda Joyce Buford Cox; three brothers, Haney, Marvin and Wright Cox; and a sister, Ossie Caldwell.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2006, at Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery in Hamilton.
Mr. Cox is survived by three children, Judy Green and husband Jimmy, of Tuscaloosa, Don Cox and wife Patricia, of Russellville, and Gary Cox and wife Donna, of Hamilton; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Iranell Bobo of Haines City, Florida.
The family is especially appreciative to his loving and compassionate caregivers Donna Robinson and Ann McCarley.

Bernice B. Horton

Bernice B. Horton, age 92, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Russellville Health Care.
Mrs. Horton lived most of her life in Franklin County and was a member of Waco Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Horton; two brothes, Gilbert Hester and Floyd Hester; and four sisters, Lillian Patton, Lee Bowen, Shellie Patton and Nan Durket.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Pinkard Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Dover officiating. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hester, Chris Briles, Tim Blacklidge, Jeff Blacklidge, Wally Pickett and Hank Thompson.
Mrs. Horton is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Smith and husband Sammy, of Russellville; two grandchildren, Craig Smith of Russellville and Leigh Ann Cameron and husband Robert, of Russellville; and two great-grandchildren, Amber Cameron and Cody Cameron.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Mid-South Health Group, Aseracare Hospice and Russellville Health Care for their care and kindness.

Edward Eudon Stephenson

Edward Eudon Stephenson, age 79, of Russellville, passed away from this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Stephenson was born September 24, 1927. He was a native of Franklin County and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Russellville. He loved his church family. He had a passion for gospel music and sang with the Believers in Christ for several years. He worked for Thompson Brothers Grocery several years before working at Merita Bread Company. He helped organize and served in the 115th Signal Battalion National Guard Unit here in Russellville. He also served many years as a volunteer fireman.
Mr. Stephenson retired from Frito Lay and then worked for Phil Campbell Chevron, and he spent the remainder of his life surrounding himself with others. He was a member of Twin Pines Country Club, where he loved to play golf with his wife and friends. He coached women's softball for several years.
Mr. Stephenson was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Era Stephenson; his sister, Nellah Mae Ballentine; and his brothers, Veto, Hodge, Willard, Blan and Elton Stephenson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Spry Memorial Chapel with Doug Hendon and Phillip Kimbrough officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ray Fretwell, (Stix) Kenneth Smith, Scotty Jones, Keith Gladney, Wayne Mayfield and John Chambers.
Mr. Stephenson is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise Stephenson; two sons, Donald Stephenson of Russellville and Roger Stephenson and wife Peggy, of Russellville; two sisters, Bennie P. Whitehead of Russellville and Laura Elendor Key of Muscle Shoals; five grandchildren, Lee Ann Stephenson, Jody Stephenson, Crissy VanHousen, Joey Stephenson and Shane Stephenson; three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Sara Saint and Madison VanHousen; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him very much.
He was a thoughtful and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was loved by all who knew him. His family will miss him and love him forever and cherish his memory in their hearts.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Heaton, Aseracare Hospice, and his many friends and family members for their prayers, calls and visits during the difficult time.
