Balloon race set for next weekend

Come out and enjoy the fun. Watch exciting hot air balloon races. Attend the festival, where there will be live entertainment, food, drinks, dancing, and children's carnival rides.
It's all happening in Natchez on Friday through Oct. 17, when the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race returns.
Balloon races take place, weather permitting, at 7 a.m. on all three days and at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and on Oct. 17.
The festival grounds are at the Rosalie Bicentennial Gardens, with the entrance on Broadway Street in historic downtown Natchez.
Tickets may be purchased at the gate or in advance from the Historic Natchez Foundation, 108 South Commerce St.; the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce, 211 Main Street, Suite A; and the Natchez Visitors Reception Center, 640 South Canal St.

Gates open Friday at 6 p.m. with a balloon glow, fireworks on the river, live music entertainment and dance.
On Saturday, the gates open at 11 a.m. and the dance begins at 7:45 p.m. On Oct. 17, the festival runs from noon to 6 p.m.
Admission cost for adults is $5 for Friday, $15 for Saturday, $5 for Oct. 17, or $20 for a weekend pass. Admission for children is $1 for Friday, $3 for Saturday, $3 for Oct. 17, or $5 for a weekend pass. Children ages 6 and under are free.
