    Services for Christopher Dale Mabry were to be held today at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Roy Dabbs and Ben Laird officiating. Burial will be in Rock Hill Church Cemetery with full military honors. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Mabry, 19, of Meridian, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in Ramadi, Iraq. He was killed in action by enemy gunfire while fighting in Iraq.
    He was born April 29, 1984, and graduated from Clarkdale Attendance Center in May 2003. He left for basic training on July 30, 2003 and was sent to several more marine stations for training. He was deployed to Iraq on Feb. 17, 2004. He will be remembered as one who loved life and God. He loved sports, his family, his friends, traveling, fishing, hunting, shooting pool with his special cousins Sam Hurt and Phillip LeBlanc, working and playing with his special cousin James "J.J." Hawkins. He loved his work at Queen City Nursing Center one summer and worked for veterinarian Dr. Otis Seals during his last high school years.
    He attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church and visited his aunt and uncle, Keith and Terrie Mabry's Church, Living Word Church in Quitman. He made his commitment of faith to God in 2002 and enjoyed attending church with his cousin James "J.J." Hawkins and his family at Rock Hill Baptist Church in Meehan.
    He played football, basketball, and ran track at Clarkdale. The highlight of his senior year was playing football when the school won the football championship.
    He was a member of The National Honor Society, listed in the National Honor Roll for 2001-2002 and Who's Who of American High School Students for 2000-2001.
    Christopher will be remembered as one who aimed high and strived for the best, giving whatever he did his best effort and putting his heart into it. He was so proud when he became a Marine. His drill instructors were all complimentary and expected Chris to make a good leader. Christopher was ahead of his team while at Ramadi, Iraq, becoming the first of 12 casualties in his unit.
    Christopher was well liked by all his friends and casual acquaintances, employers and all who met him. He was dearly loved by all his family.
    Survivors include his father, Louis Mabry Jr. of Meehan; his mother, Nancy Carter of Causeyville; a brother, Louis Mabry III, of Meehan; grandmothers, Frances Mabry of Meehan and Joyce Harper of Meridian; aunts, Frankie Woodall, Terrie Mabry, Judy Allbrook, Veronica Mabry, Peggy Wilkerson, and Geneva Wilkerson; uncles, Mike Mabry, Keith Mabry John Allbrook and Louette Hurt; several great-aunts and great-uncles and several cousins.
    He was preceded in death by his beloved "PawPaw" his grandfather, Louis Mabry Sr.; his maternal grandfather, Lester Dickerson; his uncles, Eddie Rutherford and Mike Woodall, a former U.S. Marine; his great-grandmother, "Grannie" Lena Nester; and his great-grandfather, Dell Nester.
    Pallbearers will be active military personnel. Honorary pallbearers will be David Isham, Chris Coffman, Spencer Robinson, Jake Gray, Colby Stamm, Alvin Moffitt, Ian McLaughlin, Jared Culpepper, Quinton Walker, Chris Harris and Coaches Joey Ethridge and Bubba Hathorn.
    Self-employed accountant
    BUTLER, Ala. Services for Jean LeNoir Thompson will be held today at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Butler with the Rev. Gerry Williams officiating. Burial will be in Butler City Cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Thompson, 92, of Butler, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Willow Trace Nursing Center.
    Survivors include her sons, John Thompson and his wife, Susan, of Butler and Jim Thompson and his wife, Becky, of Birmingham; a daughter, Joan Thompson Kelley and her husband, Buster, of Butler; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 14 siblings.
    Memorials may be made to the music programs at First United Methodist Church of Butler.
    Homemaker
    MACON Services for Laura Mae Davenport will be held today at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Corder officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery in Winston County. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Davenport, 95, of Macon, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, in her home.
    Survivors include her daughters, Laura Inez Barge of Macon and Ann G. Baker of Fort Worth, Texas; a son, Earnest W. Davenport Jr. of Kinsport, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest William Davenport Sr.
    Visitation will be today 12:45 p.m. until service time at the church.
    Retired
    Memorial services for William J. "Bill" Bishop will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Edward O'Connor officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Bishop, 60, of Meridian, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Riley Hospital. He was a retired federal government employee.
    Survivors include his aunt, Wanda J. Haguewood of Meridian; a cousin, Telsa Stokes and her husband, Kim, of Macon, Ga.; and a second cousin, Dustin Stokes of Charlotte, N.C.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth "Lec" Motley.
    Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
    Visitation will be Friday 9:30 a.m.-10 a.m. at the church.
    Retired
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Lowry Lundy will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Nelson Baptist Church with the Rev. Mack Alford officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery in Neshoba County. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Lundy, 79, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Neshoba County and was a longtime resident of the Bloomo Community. He was a retired rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
    He was a member of Mt. Nelson Baptist Church and served as a deacon and church clerk for many years. He was a member of Coffadeliah Masonic Lodge, a cattle and timber farmer, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
    Survivors include his daughters, Mary Aletha Lundy Meruvia and Janice Rae Lundy Moore, both of Philadelphia, and LaDona Kaye Bunch of Meridian; grandchildren, Ouida Lia Meruvia, William Lundy Meruvia, Sophia Elizabeth Meruvia, Jon Slayton and Chris Slayton; a great-grandchild, Kenleigh Slayton; and sisters, Elizabeth Lundy Williamson of Philadelphia and Mary June Lundy Dill of Columbia, S.C.
    He was preceded in death by his infant twin brother; his parents and two infant daughters.
    Visitation will be Thursday 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
