Neal, Mathews

Jennifer LeAnn Mathews and John Lelan Neal, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Raymon Leake officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Felton Mathews and Mr. and Mrs. James Douglas Neal, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Roth of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Felton Mathews Sr.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Carrol H. Campbell, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Neal, all of Columbia.
Music for the ceremony was provided by JoAnn Grantham, organist; Tammy Miles, pianist; and Julie Williams, violinist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor-length gown that fell into a fishtail train. The gown was enhanced by a sleeveless tank-top style fitted bodice, which was embroidered with pearls and sequins. Her elbow-length veil was also edged with pearls and sequins and attached to a pearl comb.
Maid of honor was Kelly Bunyard of Jackson. Other attendants were Kathy Dufour, Jennifer Long and Breckin Harper, all of Meridian, and Kelly Ishee of Pachuta.
Flower girls were Blair Miller and Erin Neal, both of Meridian.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Tim Campbell, Ben Leake and Zane Neal, all of Meridian, and Paul Mathews of Trussville, Ala. Ushers were Paul Campbell of Houston, Texas, David Connor of Atlanta, Davis Miller, Benjie McCay and Ferdie Moore, all of Meridian, and Dan Thomas of Dallas.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Shellie Denham, Amy Leake, Gloria Leake, Candice McInnis, Angela Taylor and Kim Wright.
After a honeymoon in Ft. Walton, Fla., the couple resides in Meridian.
