    OBITUARIES FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 30, 2001

    IONE VIVIAN NORRIS
    Retired lunchroom cook for public schools
    Services for Ione Vivian Norris will be held today at 1 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home with the Revs. Wayne Campbell and Mamie Lunsford officiating. Burial will be in Chunky Cemetery.
    Mrs. Norris, 91, of Chunky, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include two sons, John M. Norris of Chunky and Albert Norris and his wife, Norma, of Texas City, Texas; a daughter, Mary Dell Wilson and her husband, Roland, of Liberty, Texas; three sisters, Lorreta Hendricks and Laura Clark, both of Birmingham, Ala. and Sunshine Slaton of Porterville; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Norris; sons, James Norris and Charles Norris; a daughter, Ruth White; and her parents, John J. Ridgon and Jessica Virgil Slaton.
    DORIS USRY
    UNION Services for Doris Usry will be held today at 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. George Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Church Cemetery with Milling Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Usry, 67, of Union, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, in her home.
    Survivors include two sons, Allen Graham and Michael Scott Graham, both of Union; two sisters, Patsy Allen of Beaumont, Texas and Deloris Stokes of Jackson; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church in Forest.
    CARRIE LILLIAN RUSSELL WILLIAMS

    NEWTON Services for Carrie Lillian Russell Williams will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ken Anderson and Dr. Danny Chisholm officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Mrs. Williams, 76, of Clinton, formerly of Newton, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, in Vicksburg. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton.
    Survivors include her son, Gibby Russell and his wife, Cindy, of Vicksburg; a sister, Becky Murray and her husband, Ned, of Meridian; four grandchildren, Dale Russell and his wife, Dawn, of Hattiesburg, Lauren Russell of Jackson, Hunter Russell of Vicksburg and Clancy Green and her husband, Tim, of Silva, Mo.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ruby Wyatt Gibson; and her husbands, Ceil Russell and Bill Williams.
    Pallbearers will be Bobby Murray, Charles Horne, Billy Gibbon, Johnny George Wall, Scott White and Charles Gordan.
    Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    VERDA MAE WILLIAMS

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Verda Mae Williams will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Coye Assembly of God with the Revs. Lawrence Pool and James B. Singleton officiating. Burial will be in Coye Assembly of God Cemetery in Preston with McClain-Hays Funeral Service Inc. in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Williams, 90, of Preston, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
    Survivors include two daughters, Marylon Dufrene of Preston and Cheryl Border of Boonville, Mo.; a son, Alvin Lane Williams Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, the Rev. James. B. Singleton of Ft. Worth, Texas; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lane Williams Sr.
    Visitation will be today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    KATE M. HUDSON
    Services for Kate M. Hudson will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
    Mrs. Hudson, 82, of Hickory, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    MARGIE S. MASON

    NEWTON Services for Margie S. Mason will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Oglesbee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Mason, 78, of Newton, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include her husband, Spurgeon Mason of Newton; a daughter Sandra Morgan and her husband, Dennis, of Millington, Tenn.; two sons, Robert Mason and his wife, Susan, of Newton, and Butch Mason of Biloxi; a sister, Dona Ruth Rowzee and her husband, Bill, of Decatur; three brothers, Charles Shelton and his wife, Elizabeth, of Gulfport, Ralph Shelton and his wife, Kitty, of Pascagoula, and Larry Shelton of Jackson; two grandchildren, Kate Mason of Newton and Mason Simmons of Millington, Tenn.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lacy Reagan Shelton.
    Pallbearers will be Tom Alexander, Jimmy Mason, John Mason, Jim Mason, Jerry Hunter and Rega Bozyari.
    Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until the service time on Saturday.

    QUITMAN Services for Retha McCarty Hamilton will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Curtis Walker officiating. Burial will be in Cokes Chapel Cemetery with Berry &Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Hamilton, 94, of Shubuta, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include a son, James Hamilton Sr. and his wife Laura, of Richmond, Calif.; two sisters, Emma McCarty Brown and Letha McCarty Brown, both of Shubuta; a brother, Roy McCarty of Meridian; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents.
    Visitation will be Saturday from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Quitman.
    ARTHUR JOHN HARPER
    Services for Arthur John Harper will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
    Mr. Harper, 60, of Meridian, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, in Ft. Polk, La.
    Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Enterprise Funeral Home for Daiely Mae Johnson of Meridian, who died Thursday, March 29, 2001, in her home.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry &Gardner Funeral Home for Barbara Gilmore, 48, of Meridian, who died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Riley Hospital.

    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home Inc. for Lucille Kelly, 102, formerly of Toomsuba, who died Wednesday, March 29, 2001, at her home in Cincinnati, Ohio.

    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home Inc. for Willie M. Hudnall, 67, of DeKalb, who died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
