Pilgrim’s funds summer reading program

RUSSELLVILLE – The Russellville Public Library’s annual summer reading program will once again be sponsored by Pilgrim’s of Russellville.

Pilgrim’s made a $4,200 donation fully fund the program, whose theme this year is “Color Our World.”

It was the fourth year in a row that the local industry has sponsored the summer program that plays such a “vital role in … our community,” said Russellville Public Library Director Joshlyn Bowen.

“The funding allows me to bring all of my ideas to life without having to worry so much about expenses, so I would like to give a huge thank you to Pilgrim’s of Russellville for pouring into our community, supporting the Russellville Public Library, and most of all, for giving of yourself to provide all of these children core memories that they will never forget,” Bowen added.

“From magicians, face painters, hair tinsel, glitter tattoos, free books and amazing performers, every event is free for the registered children,” Bowen said of the donation.

Pilgrim’s Complex Manager Joshua Griffin said the company understands the invaluable role the program has during the summer months.

“It’s an honor to be able to give back to the community and support our youth through this educational program,” Griffin said. “It fully aligns with our vision as a company to provide a better future for our team members and their families.”

Mayor David Grissom added the city appreciates Pilgrim’s continued support for the summer reading program.
