Red Bay Tigers football team defeats Tanner Rattlers

The Red Bay Tigers defeated the Tanner Rattlers, 46-6. The Tigers earned a spot in the first round of the playoffs as a four seed traveling to Coosa Christian. The Tigers opened the game, scoring early in the first quarter on a 25-yard rushing touchdown by Jaxon Vinson with 10:30 left in the first quarter, making the score 8-0.

The Rattlers responded fast, after a 40-yard pass completion, scoring on a 30-yard passing touchdown with 8:00 in the first quarter, cutting the lead to 8-6. Red Bay responded with a big play 60-yard rushing touchdown by Vinson with 5:00 left in the first quarter, extending the lead to 16-6.

The Tigers opened the second quarter scoring on a 15-yard touchdown run by Vinson with 11:00 left in the second quarter, making the score 22-6. Red Bay scored on a big play 60-yard touchdown run by Vinson with 2:30 left in the first half, extending the score to 30-6.

The Tigers scored one more time before the half on a eightyard touchdown pass from Jeremiah Thorne to Braden Tabbs, making the halftime score 38-6.

Red Bay had a quiet second half, only scoring one more time in the third quarter on a one-yard touchdown pass by Vinson, extending their lead to 46-6.

Jaxon Vinson ended the game with 25 carries for 250 yards and two rushing touchdowns while also being targeted two times for 78 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

The Red Bay Tigers took down the Tanner Rattlers with a final score of 46-6. The Tigers host their county rival the Phil Campbell Bobcats Friday night.
