Countdown to Christmas

Nov. 2

Russellville Parks and Recreation has planning underway for an inaugural “Countdown to Christmas” event to take place in downtown Russellville at the A.W. Todd Centre, 201 Washington Ave. SW, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission will be $5.

The event is meant to help local vendors promote their products while encouraging the community to remember to shop “small and local” when looking to purchase items for Christmas.

Frankfort Community Center Fundraiser

Nov. 2

FrankfortCommunity Center will have a chicken stew sale to raise money to upgrade and improve the center. The sale will begin at 10 a.m. The center will sell gallons for $35 or bowls for $7 of Riley Taylor’s chicken stew recipe.

Last day to handdeliver absentee ballot

Nov. 4

Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by noon.

State of the Schools

Nov. 21

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce invites the community to learn about the state of the schools (Franklin County, Russellville City and NWSCC) on the Phil Campbell campus of Northwest-Shoals Community College on Nov. 21 at 6 p.m.
