Phil Campbell advances to volleyball Super Regional

The Phil Campbell Bobcats (21-24) punched a ticket to their second straight Super Regional, finishing runner up in the Class 3A Area 15 tournament last week. The Bobcats beat Colbert County 3-0 (25-23, 25-11, 25-8) before falling to Colbert Heights in the finals.

“Reaching the Super Regionals for the second straight year is a huge milestone,” said Phil Campbell coach Julianna Taylor. “I am proud of how far these girls have come. We’ve faced some tough competition throughout the season to prepare for the postseason. I think the girls will be ready to perform on Thursday.”

Phil Campbell was the only team in Franklin County to make it to outof- area play to the Super Regionals this year. The Bobcats will play Winfield at the Finley Center in Hoover on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

Phil Campbell was 6-2 in area competition and 6-3 in county competition, with two of those losses coming to Russellville.
