Franklin County makes seven drug trafficking arrests

Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver reported March 29 that seven people were arrested for drug trafficking after being found with a large quantity of ecstasy.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Russellville Police Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Postal Inspectors served a search warrant at a residence just outside the city limits of Russellville, off Highway 48, in Franklin County.

All seven people were located inside the residence, along with a large amount of cash and the trafficking weight of Ecstasy. In total, more than half a pound of Ecstasy was seized by law enforcement along with more than $5600 in cash.

The seven people include Druey Gandy, Darrell Bunch, Shamaya Chatman, Raven White, Malcolm Shuler, Shanaeta Brown and Megan Handy. They were arrested and charged with drug trafficking. All suspects are presumed innocent until such time they are proven guilty in a court of law.
