John Elmer Grissom

John Elmer Grissom, 89, of Spruce Pine passed away Nov. 17 at Generations Nursing Home in Red Bay. A native of Franklin County, he was retired from Russellville Water Department and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Visitation with family and friends will be Nov. 19 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, from 10-11 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Lonnie Oldag. Burial will be in Quinn Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Grissom is survived by his children, David Grissom and wife Pam, Carolyn Thompson and husband Lynn and daughter-in-law, Glenda Grissom; grandchildren, Darren and Stacy Grissom, Lance and Jamie Grissom, Daniel and Resee Mims, Michael and Candace Baum and Cody Grissom; great-grandchildren, Hunter Grissom, Whitney Cole, Magen Johnson, Jared Grissom, Laura Rose Grissom, Lexie Mims and Asher Baum; great-great-grandchildren, Xander, Silas and Carlee; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were wife, Euna Fay Grissom; parents, Herman and Hattie Grissom; son, Danny Grissom; and great-great-grandchild, Corbin Grissom.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
