Rhett Bradford hosts State Farm ribbon cutting celebration

Since Feb. 1 Rhett Bradford has been settling in to his new role as a State Farm insurance agent – a slightly different role than his former career as a Russellville firefighter. Bradford officially welcomed the community to his corner of downtown Russellville Saturday with a ribbon cutting celebration in a block party atmosphere.

For a day of festive fun, Bradford and his team hosted a car show with prizes for the sweetest rides and offered free hotdogs and snowcones for those who came to enjoy the celebration. There were also inflatables for children.

Bradford said the chance to go into insurance was the right opportunity at the right time for himself and his family, including wife Brittany and daughter Baylor. Encouraged by his cousin, an insurance agent in Winfield, Bradford took the necessary steps and, upon former agent Lanny Norris’ retirement, stepped into the insurance game.

“In the words of my old buddy, I might not can be just like Lanny; I might not can fill his shoes, but I can take a step in his direction,” Bradford said. “I just like that I’m still here in the community and I can give back and continue helping people.”
